Bringing the Beach Undercover!
Galt House Hotel is bringing the beach undercover with the most unique Parrot Head Party on March 3rd. Sponsored by WQMF, the party is located in the undercover and heated Waterfront Garage on 3rd Street. That makes it the closest party for music fans to attend. They’ll just have to walk across the street for the big concert.
Parrot Heads can get the party started early with sand, music, and prize giveaways. The fun begins Saturday, March 3rd at 5 p.m. Admission is $20 per person and includes live music by Jimmy Buffet cover artist Jim Dishman. Parrot heads can enjoy cheeseburgers and more, plus drink specials.

Thunder Over Louisville 2012 Just Two Months Away
It’s the kickoff to the Kentucky Derby Festival, and a fan favorite. Of course we’re talking about Thunder Over Louisville. This year, the largest fireworks show in the nation is set for April 21st- just two months away. And Thunder Over Louisville promises and even bigger Air Show during the day.
Every year, more than 700,000 thrill seekers flock to Louisville’s Waterfront to be part of the action. This year, you can get one of the best seats in the house, by booking a Waterfront Balcony Suite, RIVUE Tower Deluxe Room, or an Executive Suite in the SUITE Tower. Music Fans Rock Out at “Hot for Teacher” Party
Dozens of music fans rocked out at the Galt House Hotel’s “Hot for Teacher” Party, sponsored by WQMF. Concert jams got the crowd ready for the tour kickoff, just across the street at the KFC Yum! Center. Concert-goers even got to test out their own skills on Guitar Hero- Van Halen Edition.
The food brought us all back to our school days. An assortment of “lunchroom favorites” were available, from square pizza and tator tots, to sloppy joes and Twinkies.
One very lucky pair of folks won a last-minute concert tickets raffle, given away by WQMF.
Galt House Hotel Donates $7,700 to Blessings in a Backpack
Christmas may be over, but the spirit of giving is alive and well at Galt House Hotel. Friday, the Galt House Hotel presented a $7,700 check to Blessings in a Backpack. The organization was the charity of choice for the 2011 Christmas at the Galt House event. The money will feed 100 children at Portland Elementary for the entire school year.
Blessings in a Backpack is a unique program designed to feed elementary school children on the weekends throughout the school year. These children qualify for the federal Free and Reduced Price meal program, and have little to no food on the weekend. The backpacks include easy-to-prepare, ready-to-eat meals like granola bars, juice boxes, macaroni and cheese and oatmeal.
This donation comes at a time when Blessings in a Backpack faces a huge demand of families facing tough economic times. Galt House Hotel is proud to help feed children in our community by partnering with Blessings in a Backpack.
